FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which markets do you trade?

We focus on four major indices; German DAX 30, S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 index and FTSE 100 index. We trade the daily cash rolling contracts for the tightest spread and the majority of positions are closed intraday. We do hold positions overnight but minimise holding trades for prolonged periods to reduce the build up of overnight financing fees. We do occasionally trade major Forex but this only accounts for 5% of asset allocation. Focusing on a few markets is more efficient and easier to manage.

How many trades per day can I expect?

The trading strategy involves a high volume of trades. It consists of short term swing trades, intraday scalping and hedging. Using this mix of strategies has been very effective for delivering healthy profits for most months. You can view all trading activity in real time from you trading account and via the MetaTrader 5 APP .

I am busy during the day, will this service work for me?

Yes, this service is designed for busy individuals who desire a fully automated service. All trading execution is provided . You can view live performance of your account at any time. Account statements from the regulated broker are also provided at the end of each trading day.

How do you incorporate risk management?

Some but not all trades have stop losses and we often hedge as a form of risk management. We minimise exposure when overnight holding to safeguard against event risk. The platform we use has a unique feature whereby you can put a stop loss on the entire account on a percentage basis. Clients can set their own maximum drawdown. For example on a an initial investment of £10,000, if you elected for a 30% stop loss, then the most you stand to lose is £3,000. Further details of this are available on the PDF or by contacting us.

Do you recommend any particular platform to trade?

We have a choice of two brokers and depending on your account size and preference we can present the best option for your needs. Both brokers are regulated. In both instances, we use Meta Trader 5  (MT5) as a trading platform.

Are you regulated?

Analyst Online UK is not regulated as there is no need to be. This would be an additional expense for us and we aim to be very competitive in our fees to clients. Our Analysts do however have FCA qualifications. Furthermore the long established and large UK broker we work with is UK regulated offering clients the full FCA protections.
